The Hare's Bride

Girl is to chase away bunny that eats cabbage, is invited by him and is to prepare wedding with bunny; builds straw doll and flees.

Once upon a time there was a woman and her daughter who lived in a beautiful garden with cabbage; a rabbit came there and ate all the cabbage in the wintertime. So the woman said to her daughter: "Go into the garden and chase the rabbit". Said the girl to the bunny: ""Shoo! Shoo! You bunny, eat all the cabbage!" Says the bunny: ""Come, girl, and sit on my little bunny tail and come with me to my little bunny hut!"" The girl does not want to.
The next day the bunny comes back and eats the cabbage; the wife says to the daughter, "Go into the garden and chase the bunny! The girl says to the bunny: ""School! Shoo! You bunny, still eat all the cabbage!"" Says the bunny: ""Come, girl, sit on my bunny tail and come with me to my little bunny house."" The girl does not want to.
On the third day, the rabbit comes back and eats the cabbage. The woman says to her daughter: "Go into the garden and chase the rabbit! Says the girl: "Shoo! Shoo! You bunny, eat all the cabbage!" Says the bunny: ""Come, girl, sit on my little bunny tail and come with me to my little bunny hut!"" The little girl sat down on the rabbit's tail, and the rabbit took her far out into her little hut and said, "Now cook some kale and millet, and I'll ask the wedding people". Then all the wedding people came together. Who were the wedding people? I can tell you, as someone else told me: they were all rabbits, and the crow was there as the priest to marry the bride and groom, and the fox as the sexton, and the altar was under the rainbow.
But the girl was sad because she was so alone. The bunny comes and says: "Open up, open up, the wedding people are funny! The bride says nothing and cries. Bunny goes away, bunny comes again and says, ""Open up, open up, the wedding people are hungry."" The bride again says nothing and cries. Bunny goes away; Bunny comes back and says, ""Open up, open up, the wedding people are waiting."" Then the bride says nothing, and Bunny goes away; but she makes a doll of straw with her clothes, and gives her a stirring spoon, and puts her by the kettle of millet, and goes to her mother. Bunny comes again and says, "Open up, open up," and opens up and throws something at the doll's head so that her hood falls off.
Then Bunny sees that it is not his bride, and goes away and is sad.
