The Three Sluggards

At the deathbed, the 3 sons of a king outdo each other as to who is the laziest. The third convinces his father and follows him as king.

A king had three sons, all of whom were equally dear to him, and he did not know which he should choose as king after his death. When the time came that he was about to die, he called them to his bed and said, Dear children, I have thought of something that I want to tell you: whichever of you is the most lazy one should become king after me." when I lie down and want to sleep and a drop falls into my eyes, I don't want to close them to sleep."
The second said, "Father, the kingdom belongs to me, for I am so lazy to warm myself when I sit by the fire, so I let my heels burn before I pull back my legs." The third said, "Father, that Rich is mine, for I am so lazy, should I be hanged, and if the rope was already around my neck, and someone put a sharp knife in my hand so that I could cut the rope, I would rather let myself be hanged, eh I lift up my hand to the rope." When the father heard this, he said, "You have come the farthest and shall be the king.
